- Carer’s Leave and Neonatal Leave and Pay
Also currently making their way through Parliament, if they receive royal assent these Bills would give all unpaid carers the right to one week’s unpaid leave a year from their employment to deal with their caring responsibilities and give parents of babies needing neonatal care up to 12 weeks’ leave and pay in addition to other leave entitlements.
- The Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill
Essentially the current position is that, unless legislation derived from EU law is restated or replaced by the end of this year, it will no longer apply. It’s highly likely this deadline will be extended given the huge amount of legislation that needs to be considered, but do keep an eye on this as it’s a huge opportunity for the Government to reshape some key employment related legislation including those relating to TUPE, working time, agency workers etc.
- Miscellaneous
We should receive key judgments later this year on how far back holiday pay claims can look, an agency worker’s right to be considered for vacancies and many others. We will of course keep you up to date as and when those decision are reported.
